"I would define my sculptural work as objecto-mania where comes into play a series of images, iconographies, popular slang and many elements of traditional culture that blend into different languages of Cuban contemporary art."
Graduate of the Provincial school of Fine Arts «Luis Artemio Carbó» of Guantánamo, in 1977, he holds a diploma in sculpture, design and ceramic from the Academia de Artes Plásticas – José Joaquín Tejada – Santiago de Cuba, in 1983. The same year, he won the first prize at the National Salon of Fine Arts, School of Arts category, at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes.

He participated as sculptor on the team responsible for the artistic development of the Baconao Park and the implementation of the monument of the Plaza de la Revolución Antonio Maceo in Santiago de Cuba. He authored the ambience sculptures of the 5-star hotel Melia Santiago and the "Portico de las Estrellas" at ExpoCuba in La Habana : two award winning achievements during national contests. He participated in well over 40 provincial, national and international collective exhibitions. His first solo exhibition "Sugerencias", in 1994, was held at the Provincial Center of Fine Arts and Design (Galeria de Arte Universal) in Santiago, Cuba.
